Alex

1 year anniversary of the whole pancreas transplantation and life without insulin!

Congratulations Alex!

"...September 23rd, 2022- that’s when my life changed for the better. Dr. Witkowski and his team were able to perform a pancreas transplant for me after years of suffering from T1D.

The effect that T1D had on my life was immense, and the list of things I couldn’t do because of it is far too vast to layout. I was slowly deteriorating, mentally, and physically from lack of nutrition and exercise, and my quality of life was declining with each passing day.

Thanks to this amazing transplant team, I have been given a gift to do the things I have been unable to do for many years. I can eat what I want, I can go for a walk, take a hot shower, exercise, all without having to worry about my blood glucose levels. I have been insulin free for a year now, with a A1C of 5.3.

It has truly been a wonderful and significant life-changing opportunity for both me and my family.

Dr. Witkowski, his team, and the Donor, have given me a second chance at life. For that, I will be forever grateful.”

Thanks,

Alex

Despite young age Alex  (28) had suffered not only from labile T1DM but othe metabolic disorders. Pancreas transplantation resolved all of them.
