Islet after Kidney Transplantation

I am writing to let you know about an opportunity to participate in a research study designed for patients with Type 1 Diabetes who has already received a kidney transplant.

 

The study may benefit especially for those patients with challenging blood glucose control.

 

This study is being conducted by myself, Dr. Piotr Witkowski at the University of Chicago.

​

This research study will assess the safety, tolerability and efficacy of the islet transplantation in patients with stable islet allograft function.

​

You may be eligible for this study if:

• you have Type 1 Diabetes

• you are between the ages of 18-65,

• you have stable kidney graft function

• blood type A or AB

• you have BMI below 30

​
