Taryn
Taryn has been a dedicated participant in our study for an extended period and has displayed unwavering commitment throughout. Thanks to the islet transplant, she has successfully eliminated the need for insulin entirely.
On the New Year's Eve of 2024, she attended the Seahawks game confidently, leaving her pump at home.
Taryn's journey has reached a milestone where she no longer requires insulin.

Taryn, busy the mother of 3 came to us from Seattle looking for her chance for insulin free life. Her road was curved and bumpy but she was not discouraged but she finally made it. She has been insulin free for last 6 months with HbA1c of 5.4%. Her peak blood glucose after mix meal did not cross 116mg/ml when tested today. Now, she can do what she loves the most, travel around worry free without her second backpack full of diabetic supplies, high glucose snacks and drinks.
Importantly, she met new close friends who has shared her journey with islet transplant. You can see her visiting Spain with Hannah in our previous post.
